A small fun project.

Starting with 1965, I'll do both 'primaries' between candidates that ran, lost, considered running but didn't, and so forth. Since I don't expect lots of traffic Sad, I'll open the primaries of ALL parties to ALL voters - kind of open primaries... but please try to project yourself as a member of that party voting for the best candidate (aka, if you're a leftie, don't vote for Jean Royer in the UDR primaries just because you want a leftie to win!). Then, the winners will go on to duke it out in a general election.

I'll be the GO for this, so in the general election I will decide personally whether or not to include candidates that lost primaries but have serious digs on running... like Jean Royer, again, for example.

This will serve as the organization thread Smiley

Primaries for 1965 will be up soon.

OMG, "que cent fleurs s'épanouissent, que cent projets rivalisent" !

You keep on creating very interesting things.
And I'll be happy to take a small part in them ! Cheesy

Is this topic a fatal blow to your topic on 4-year presidential elections ?
I'll find some time to post in it next week, I think.

Anyways, for this one, it's very pleasing.

Yes, it's absolutely necessary that everyone votes as if he was a party member, whatever the party
(for example, I would vote for DSK over Mélenchon in 2006, had Mélenchon been candidate in the primaries).

For 1965, do you intend to post an extreme-right primary ?
Tixier-Vignancour vs Le Pen ?

I hope that, in 1969, the incumbent will face real primaries in his party.

Of course in the left, as it would be far more interesting than in 1965.
But, even in the Gaullist movement, there would be other candidates than de Gaulle.

As a note, I won't be developing an alternate history on this. The results of the preceding election will not influence the next election, since it would require me to turn this into a timeline, for which I have neither the time nor desire to do.

I also might have more than one things running at once...
