If he drops some of his father's bad ideas (gold standard, isolationism) and associations he will be a great candidate.
That said, Ron Paul's most vocal supporters were 9/11 truthers, anti-government nutjobs, and racists. Plus Paul's far rightness on social issues (though he was state's rights).
So we'll see, I don't know enough about Rand to know if he has intelligent, if radical, positions, or not (like his father).
