How would the 1992 election have gone if the US had a system were a candidate was only awarded the electoral votes of a state if they acheived 50% of the vote and if no candidate did get 50% in a state on election day, there would be a run-off in the below 50% states at a later date? Run offs in 48 states would be between Bush and Clinton, but in Maine it would be Clinton Vs. Perot and in Utah it would be Bush Vs. Perot.

Since the only state where a candidate got over 50% was Arkansas, this would be the map after the first election day.

Green are the run off states.

The main election day in this cycle would be the second one where all the races would be decided.
