Time for new survivors !

More technical, less political (or not ?), more interesting...

Simple rule: vote for the president you want to eliminate.
Each round is open for 24 hours+, except round 1 which will be longer, to let you some time to read upon them if you don't know everything of each one of them...

(And don't forget to vote in my 20th Century History Makers Survivor, in History board !)

1. Walter Hallstein 1958-1967
2. Jean Rey 1967-1970
3. Franco Maria Malfatti 1970-1972
4. Sicco Mansholt 1972-1973
5. François-Xavier Ortoli 1973-1977
6. Roy Jenkins 1977-1981
7. Gaston Thorn 1981-1985
SURVIVOR !8. Jacques Delors 1985-1995
SURVIVOR !9. Jacques Santer 1995-1999
10. Romano Prodi 1999-2004
11. José Manuel Barroso 2004-...

Results:
round one: Thorn 5, Barroso 1
round two: Barroso 4, Malfatti 1
round three: Malfatti 4, Prodi 1
round four: Santer 2, Ortoli 1
round five: Ortoli 3, Mansholt 2
round six: Mansholt 3, Prodi 1
round seven: Jenkins 5
round eight: Prodi 4, Hallstein 1
round nine: Hallstein 3, Rey 2
round ten: Rey 6

One more thing: I'd include Manuel Marín

Since my "bad" experience with the German Chancellors Survivor where I included Scheel, was criticized (rightly I think) for it and saw Scheel being eliminated only in the last third of the Survivor.... I'm very reluctant to include the interim guys.
Marin was really and only an interim guy (even if he may have done more things than Thorn !)

Barroso has the most difficult spectrum of national leaders (and the most numerous in history !) for a very long time...
Schröder and Merkel were not so sure a European for a German chancellor, Sarkozy is a weird rider, Berlusconi is Berlusconi, Blair and then Brown OMG, Kaczynskis, Klaus, new Dutch scepticism, Luxembourg under fire, rebellious Ireland...

Well, I think he's doing COMPARATIVELY a better job than even Hallstein, Rey and Ortoli: they were in so easy times...
I don't like Barroso so much per se, but he deserves some respect for his... patience !

Barroso is eliminated with 80% !

ROUND THREE IS OPEN

Vote away !

I vote for Malfatti again: in the EU, he didn't do anything noticeable and, as soon as he can go back to Rome, he did it.

I vote for Ortoli.

Well, he was there to insure that the EU doesn't take a federal path...
Not a bad one, not a great one.
