Did anyone get a chance to see Jon Stewart on CNN's "Crossfire" last week?  I guess Begala and Carlson thought he'd show up and tell a few jokes, but he came on with an agenda, and I can't say that I disagree with it.

He basically confronted Begala and Carlson (and directed his comments towards other commentators like them) and said that they were only playing right into the candidates' hands.  They are no more than cheerleaders for their respective ideologies and parties, and they certainly don't do the American people a service by not asking tough questions and trying to expose politicians' underhandedness.

Way to go, Jon!  His approach is a little tactless, but it gets the job done.  Here's a video:

It wasn't the time for tact. Thank God someone took the trouble to say this to those idiots.

You may not agree with his politics, but you must admit that Jon Stewart is perhaps the most politically influential television show on a basic cable network. With puppets.

I may not always agree with Stewart's politics, but I definatley admire how forthright he was on crossfire.  His attacks were right on,  I couldn't be more supportive of what he had to say.

And the comment about wearing the bow tie --- Hilarious!!!

I thought it was funny that Carlson apparently attacked Stewart for revealing he would be voting for Kerry - as if anyone could've thought otherwise!

I thought it was slightly harsh when he called him a dick though.

I'm glad somebody said it- I hate that show. It used to be decent with Pat Bucannan and Bill Press. Who was that other liberal guy on the show? It was classy and substantive.

Lately it bites- I'd rather watch Brittany Spears debate Drew Barrymore- they'd be capable of more depth. And more fun to watch.
