Edwards is toast.  I do hope he wins SC though and keeps slogging it out with Dean, Clarka nd whoeve ris left, spend that money folks!

Gore wasn't really seen as a southerner, nor did he come across as one.  NC is far more conservative than Arkansas and Louisiana, so Edwards, with SOUTHERN appeal that Gore did not have, will have a better shot at ARK and LA.

Dean is very questionable on race and black turnout.  He got slammed by Sharpton!  Al sharpton, the guys out there and Dean couldn't beat him on the point.  Sharpton , plus confederate flag comments.

Edwards and Clark would be stronger on the issue of race, esp edwards.

Do you think Dean/Clark/Edwards or some combination of the three could get as good black turnout as Gore did?

No, NC is simply more Republican than Ark. and Louisiana. Louisiana is much more conservative than NC, probably the third most conservative state in the country (after Utah and Miss.), despite its Democratic leanings. As with Ark. it is not much more liberal than NC.

But dean should have said I hired the best people available in my state!  No we do not have a lazrge black and brown population to draw from and ont he Presidential level as I have done in this race I have found good people of color to help me.  Would have been a home run of an answer!
