Which one?

I'm in favour of a Republic, and therefore electing a President (preferably with a run-off system like in France).

Keep the monarchy in my opinion.

Those who want a President ought to say who they'd actually want to be said President.

Tony Blair, haha. Oh how the Conservatives would cringe.

You guys should be glad you have a nice, powerless monarchy. I wish we had one.

Eh, I think it's kind of neat that they still have a monarchy. And they seem relatively harmless, even if they do theoretically have quite a bit of power.

Would be nice if the crown skipped Charles, though.

Republic, obviously.

The notion of a ruling class, no matter how powerless, is wrong.

Couln't we have some sort of compromise? Move towards a more democratic Presidential system, but keep the Royal Family for tradition? loads of details to be worked out.

I don't really care whether or not they get a democratically-elected head of state, but throwing the royalty under the bus would be wise.

Why? What good does a group of people who are paid by the public to do nothing serve?

I've been a Republican since I was little, but I don't really like the title President. How about something more historical, more fitting, more British... like Lord Protector.

Smacks of dictatorship. Oliver Cromwell became what he most detested.

Did you think the Bragança-familiy was good? They were only a bunch of idiots.

I don't see the problem with "President", personally. :/

It's just so generic, so dull. And British governmental institutions should be neither. Lord Protector, though, has style and a certain historic charm. Thinking along the same lines, we should be a Commonwealth, not a Republic. Why use a foreign word when there's a much nicer English one?
