A fine idea ! Smiley

It seems as if you want to keep it inside the last 120 years.
Otherwise, Brutus would be a strong contender Wink

We don't know the name of Massoud's assassin ?

No, Hans-im-Glück wants (I think) assassins of individuals, not "mass" assassins.

So, beware of including terrorists (anarchists, IRA, far leftists, Basques, fascist brigades, etc), who, I think, don't qualify to this survivor.

Mielke really is an "outsider" in your list: he doesn't fit the others, I think.

And what about Massoud ? The problem is that you've got 4 unsure names of assassins. And it's not good to put groups on your list.
But, well, it must be, at least, discussed and thought about.

And do you confirm that you don't want "old" ones, like Brutus ?
(He was the first (?) big political assassin, after all...)
Of course, that would mean to check Egyptian history, ancient Greek history, medieval Chinese and Japanese histories, Muslim history, Ottoman history, etc...

And another idea, given by Hashemite in his topic in this board: Maxime Brunerie, who failed in his attempt on Jacques Chirac in 2002 ?

@Sewer Socialist

Squeaky Fromme and Dan White are in the game

@fab

Maxime Brunerie is a good idea i will add him. With Massoud, there gives no name of hid assassin, only speculations. Your idea with assassins of all time that would be too complicated. Your big Survivor is only 20th century and i want to read the posts when we make a Survivor of the most important people of all the time and Jesus will be eliminate early Grin

Mielke is a outsider in this list, but i think a good one Wink

@Lewis

Mijailo Mijailović, the assassin of Anna Lindh is a good idea and i put him on the list. The assassin of Olof Palme is unknown Sad

I can wait to start the survivor, maybe there gives more suggestions.

I wouldn't take part in a survivor with Jesus included Grin
You don't believe me ?
Well, maybe you're right Cheesy

OMG...
And what about Arutyunian, who attempted to kill Saakashvili and Bush in... 2006 ?

Maybe you can add him, because I don't think any of us, Gandhi-lovers, would have switched to Arutyunian Wink

Ignacy Hryniewiecki, who was not Belarusia, but from Polish gentry Tongue

And pity you haven't included Eligiusz Niewiadomski

Hey, I'm not perfect Wink do you want i change it, or is this not so important?

He killed first Polish president, he should be there. He's not less important than many others listed

and eliminate Otto Planetta Wink

We are in round 3 and i cannot add every round another assassin on the list. This is really the last one I add. Now i close the list.

Thanks Hans.
Kalwejt was right to demand you to add him, even though he may be eliminated quite early Wink

Bastien-Thiry

That's awful to say but Jaurès' death didn't change anything (not only for international relations, as Jaurès couldn't have stopped the war alone; but also and even to French socialism, as he would have been sidelined anyway).
Of course, de Gaulle was safe, so it didn't change anything either. But it could have, really, if Bastien-Thiry had succeeded.

Bastien-Thiry !

I'm sure some of us see first "de Gaulle" and not "OAS-Algérie française"....
