Actually, it is called the Society of Friends. Quaker is like Mormon in the sense that what the adherents are called seems odd in view of the actual name of the denomination.

I know that.
It's because George Fox once told a magistrate to "tremble before the word of the Lord" that they gained that name.

I unfortunately am very heretical, as the first thing that comes to mind when I hear that name is that jolly-looking guy in the old-fashioned hat on cereal boxes.
