The Dream ticket for 2012?  For me, that would have to be Ron Paul/Peter Schiff.

If we're talking about resurrecting the dead (someone mentioned Grover Cleveland), then I would have to say Henry George/Lysander Spooner.

Thank you for your very interesting contribution to this thread and welcome to the forum.

Another interesting combination would be former Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and former Senator John Breaux of Louisiana, running as the Republican candidates on a National Unity platform.

Yeah, I wouldn't touch any ticket with Newt Gingrich's name with a twelve-foot pole.

In my opinion a Pawlenty/Rice ticket would be a good match for Obama/Biden. In Minnesota Tim Pawlenty has been able to balance the state budget and he's a republican Governor in a Super Democratic State. Minnesota hasn't voted republican since Richard Nixon. Rice would help in the foreign policy region and get a lot of independent votes, i don't think African Americans would support her maybe African American Females.

to me this is how a Pawlenty/Rice ticket would do against an Obama/Biden ticket.

Pawlenty would not win his home state, or Michigan for that matter.

Is it not simply speculation that Crist is gay?

He may not actually be gay.

True.  We don't know for sure.  Just as we don't know for sure about David Dreier or Lindsay Graham.  And for that matter, we don't know with 100% certainty about Larry Craig.  99% maybe, but not 100%.

If Crist is gay, of course, then you have two problems --

1.  Can a gay man, if outed, win a GOP nomination?
2.  Is he a self-loathing gay like former Congressman Steve Gunderson.  Or is he a FF like former Congressman Jim Kolbe?   I don't know what Crist's record on gay rights is. Wasn't Kolbe's record excellent?

Makes me wonder what if he's outed after winning the GOP nomination?

Which is EXACTLY what the Dems would do, Chris, to seal the deal against the GOP.
