President Strauss-Kahn decided in late 2006 not to be candidate again, having suffered 3 heart attacks, due to his bad eating and drinking habits.

Some pundits even think that revelations on his sexual life were, for once in France, bad for his image and political future. Not the wild sexual life in itself, but the fact that the latest woman in the game is no other than Ségolène Royal, now retired from politics and CEO of a society specialized in relaxing and fitness, viewed by some as a sect.

President Strauss-Kahn has been reported as saying privately that he was forced to perform this "conquest" because of an old bid with former President Jean-Louis Borloo and former Minister André Santini about former Regional Counsellor Royal.

*Ahem*

So, comes the presidential election of 2007.
Of course, it has to be transposed to the future, as 2007 is almost the present...
And, in the future, I do what I want ! Wink
So I've picked "young" leaders... but not the ones with the brightest future. Just the youngest in small parties and the ones I want to see here in the bigger parties.
So, no personal matching here, no identical political positionings.
Just a young pack, for fun.

Here are the 12 candidates:

Valérie Pécresse (<-> Nicolas Sarkozy; I had to include her, you know...)

Manuel Valls (<-> Ségolène Royal; messy young leader...)

Eric Azière (<-> François Bayrou; loyal young apparatchik, who sticks to Dear Leader's strategy and tactics)

Steeve Briois (<-> Jean-Marie Le Pen; as a loyal follower of Panzergirl, he has a good future in the party)

Bruno Retailleau (<-> Philippe de Villiers; a young and more moderate Villiers)

Yannick Jadot (<-> Dominique Voynet; formerly in Greenpeace, I'm not sure he will succeed inside the party...)

Omar Slaouti (<-> Olivier Besancenot; well, hard to pick a realy young leader in the NPA who isn't in the Secret Politburo...)

Olivier Dartigolles (<-> Marie-George Buffet; one of the three stupid youngs behind Buffet; PCF, où es-tu?)

Nathalie Arthaud (<-> Arlette Laguiller; bis repetita)

Eddie Puyjalon (<-> Frédéric Nihous; Nihous seems to be Einstein when compared to Puyjalon...)

Patrick Braouezec (<-> José Bové; interesting figure from this far-left margin, between old communism, "gauchisme", red greenness and associative world)

Elie Domota (<-> Gérard Schivardi; well, not exactly a match... I just wanted to have fun with an independentist candidate to the Presidency... Domota would fit better to the Bové positioning in fact)

12 candidates, so 12 votes that you must cast 7 - 3 - 1 - 1.

Second round:

2 candidates:

Valérie Pécresse (<-> Nicolas Sarkozy; I had to include her, you know...)

Manuel Valls (<-> Ségolène Royal; messy young leader...)

Eric Azière (<-> François Bayrou; loyal young apparatchik, who sticks to Dear Leader's strategy and tactics)

But just wait for some time...
