US Senate
AL-Shelby-R*
AK-Murkowski-R*
AZ-McCain-R*
AR-Lincoln-D*
CA-Boxer-D*
CO-Norton-R+1R- Bennett-D is a weak incumbent-appointed US Senator with 0 name recognition.
CT-Simmons-R+2R- Dodd-D is unpopular due to scandals and Simmons is a credible challenger.
DE-Castle-R+3R- Castle-R is the 800lb gorrilla. Two term former Governor and 9 term At Large US House Member- 3rd US Senator from DE. Beau Biden will give Castle a tough race but will end up losing by a narrow margin.
FL-Crist-R
GA-Isakson-R*
HI-Inouye-D*
ID-Crapo-R
IL-Giannoulias-D
IN-Bayh-D*

CT and DE can be surprise victories for Dodd-D and Beau Biden-D.
+1R or +1D Gain.
Governor- DEMS will hold onto CO and IA plus pick up FL and NV with or without Gibbons.

Can you explain the asterisks and +1R notation?  Did some states pick up extra Senate seats?

The +1R is the first Democratic held US Senate Seat the Republicans are likely to gain. Same goes for the Democrats.
Democrats are favored to pick up MO and OH so I marked MO as +1D and OH as +2D and if 2010 is a strong year for Democrats we can add NH,KY,and possibly NC.
