I was looking at recent polling in my state, and I was surprised at how bad Democrats were doing.

Obama's job approval margin is 10 points less than the national average, Ritter has negative approvals, and Bennet is -7, though 31% are undecided.

Fmr. Lt. Governor Jane Norton, the favorite to win the Republican Senator nomination, has a 9 point lead over Bennet, while Scott McInnis, the favorite to win the Republican gubernatorial nomination, has a six point lead over Ritter. Most telling is Mark Udall's approvals, which are only +1, despite him having an extensive history in the state and being a likable guy.

It's a little early to really get an idea of what will happen, but the Colorado Democrats seem to be in trouble.

Did the Republicans get rid of Dick Wadhams? If he's still around, I wouldn't put my money on them.

If so, then that was a pretty fast swing of the pendulum.

Wouldn't be the first time that's happened in Colorado.

Anyway, it's rather too early to say anything.

That's what I like about this state, it's politcally competitive.  Both parties get a shot in this state which make it better than pure Democrat or Republican.  I see CO swinging back toward the REPs in 2010.

he is...I agree. I have no idea why Republicans were so stupid to choose him over Tom Stone

we could nominate Cleve Tidwell and Dan Maes and they'd win. All we have to pick is a decent republican, give 'em some money and we're good. Ritter was a complete dummy and Bennet is a true Coloradan, he's a random IVY leaguer that is now our Senator who we don't know.

I think that's part of the reason we are the second "freest" state in the union.

Is New Hampshire the "freest" state in the union?

If Andrew Romanoff beats Bennet in the primary (given Bennet's inexperience in elected office and lack of name recognition, could he beat him in the primary?), would he have a good shot of beating the GOP's candidate (depending on who it is, of course).

FYI - Ryan Frazier is apparently dropping out of the Senate race and running against Perlmutter.

Wow, that's a suicide mission.

He wasn't going anywhere in the Senate race either. Here's an interesting analysis on the switch:

yes...a very good chance. GOP leaders are afraid of him, I've talked to them though they won't admit it publicy. If he wins the nomination he'll be on fire.

Hopefully there will be firemen nearby.

The most stuff I read about Bill Ritter, the more of a reason to vote against him.
