Somewhat disapprove. I am not too happy that the numbers are being cooked on the health care issue, and Obama's pushing of the public option, and what now seems to me at this juncture to be excessive spending on a host of matters, that I think will cause rather severe inflation down the road.  (Load up on those fixed interest rate mortgages folks that are cheap because the government is subsidizing them (yes like it is seemingly subsidizing near everything else, often on a non means tested basis), by virtue of having the agencies it controls buy them, when no one else in their right mind would.)

I am pleased that he is thinking through carefully Afghanistan, and am not pleased that he has the slows in acting on his promise or quasi promise to dump don't ask, don't tell.  However, Obama certainly has the potential over time to cause me to move him up to the somewhat approve category depending on how these issues play out.

The "Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act" sounds ominous. Typically, using the word "fair" in the same sentence with "pay" is all about using government power to pay folks more than they are worth on the market, and is more often than not directed to certain favored interests. Am I on the right track with this one Lief?  Tongue

Addenum: Upon doing a Google, apparently not; in fact I actually favor this bill. Damn!  Sad
