Bush has an IQ of 126. While someone's IQ doesn't represent knowledge, It's a pretty safe bet to say Bush is the smarter of the two.

For a politician, there are two kinds of smart.  There is smart about getting elected and smart about making policy.  George W. Bush was much smarter than Sarah Palin on both counts.

While he made some goofs as President, I think he is a smart guy. Palin however, doesn't come across as smart in any way.

Bush is not particularly stupid. He may have been over his head as president, but I wouldn't claim to be smarter than him. Palin seems like another matter. It might not be smarts, it might be the lack of education. But she has done things that are very strange.

I think both are very smart, though I voted for Bush.  Bush is a VERY intelligent man and was a smart president, though he didn't show it all the time.  Palin would have been an efficient vice president had McCain been elected.  Palin just doesn't have much experience and that's what hurt her and the McCain team.  Her intelligence is high, her experience is nearly nill.  It doesn't take much to be the governor of Alaska, and now that she resigned, she will have even less experience going into 2012 should she decide to run.
