Something new Smiley I've formed the first Senate Committee for a while (ever?)

The reason is simple; I've been grappling with a bill designed to standardise parental leave and foster a child and parent friendly culture in Atlasia. I also want to see more balanced and shared parental responsibility in two parent households (however not enforced by the state; simply allowing parents to delegate parenting within the family)

I want a generous entitlement; a 'Parental Allowance' if you will that does not have to be taken in one bloc but can be 'bankable'; exchangeable and used from birth right through the the child is in preschool (perhaps later)

I want this to be recognised by the state in law and honoured by employers.

I would appreciate the Senates help in looking at existing models (I like Sweden's...but without the state bureaucracy Tongue ) and forming a Bill that can be tabled and debated in due course.

*STAMP STAMP*

Distinguished Senators, dearest friends. I hope to put to you over the next few days a bill sadly drafted soley by myself. While I expect and support opposition to the bill and the proposals there-in, should their be any mumbling and grumbling over the skeleton of the bill then let me remind you, you had your chance. Cheesy
