I calculated this by subtracting Bush's approval rating from McCain's vote share in each state according to exit polls and then Subtracting that number from McCain's share of the vote in a given district. Its far from perfect, please tell me if there's a better way.

MS-4 50%

NE-3 50%

TX-14 51%

OK-3 51%

GA-11 52%

UT-3 52%

TX-17 53%

TX-4 55%

LA-1 57%

AL-4 57%

AL-6 57%

TX-19 58%

TX-8 60%

GA-9 61%

One thing to remember is that moderate\liberal Republicans didn't like George Bush, but conservative Republicans still strongly approved of him. (over 75% IIRC)

Some of those congressional districts have mostly conservative Republicans, so I'm sure that his approval was touching 70% in at least a couple of CD's.

I doubt many of these disctricts have a significant number of moderate or liberal Republicans.

Yeah, that's my point.
