"Sex education" is a pointless waste of resources. I never needed some idiotic class to know what a condom is and about the mechanics and biological consequences of intercourse.

But then, I forget that so many people are so freaking dumb. Too bad they probably will end up reproducing, sex-ed or not.

I don't believe abstinence-only is a good education but there are instances of taking the opposite too far and endorsing risky sexual behavior which is even worse, especially for public schools to be practicing.

First, schools have the responsibility to educate students with accurate and comprehensive information and this absolutely extends to sexuality.

Second, kids will experiment sexually regardless, so not teaching them proper information just makes the situation worse. It's not a coincidence that the religious right states have the highest teen pregnancy rates.

They obviously were not listening to what they were being told in class anyway. What makes you think they would practice safer sex if they were told to do so any more than they would practice abstinence if they were told to do so?
