First, I don't believe he would run in 2008. Too many Bushes in a row. Same reason Hillary didn't run right away. I think the Senate path is the most logical for him. He's young enough to run after a term or two. By then, enough time will have passed between his attempt and W's retirement.

Hmmm....

Hillary vs. Jeb, the stuff of my nightmares.  I would be highly reluctant to support either as this whole 'qualified because of close biological/marital realtions to someone else powerful' smacks of nepotism and monarchism.   Faced with such a choice I'd probably find myself weighing the Libertarians against the Greens.

The fact that he won't run shows some class on his part, and a desire to put the well being of the nation ahead of personal agrandizment.  His respectability just went up several notches in my book.

A Senate bid in 2006 would be possible; another possibility would be the VP slot, expecially if it was a northern Republican.

Hillary vs. Jeb would mark the 3rd straight Presidential election in a row with just plain horrible candidates. I think that in of itself would be deadly to the election process.

What's wrong with Jeb?  Other than the fact that he's a Bush, that is.

Giuliani is the most electable Republican candidate for 2008..but I doubt he will make it out of the primaries. He's just too liberal....not to mention the blaming the troops comment today.

Ouch.  I saw him say that.  What was he thinking?  If he ever does run, that'll surely come back to haunt him.  No matter - you're right, he's too socially liberal for the Republican base.
