What if the landings at Normandy had failed, or had been decided against and put off to another date, likely June 19th, which also would have gone badly. How does this affect history?

For D-Day to fail, it would have had to occur at a time when it would still have been an event relevant to the war itself, rather than just for the postwar order. That is to say, it ought to have occurred when everybody - every American - in Allied High Command knew it ought to have happened, in the summer of 1943. Instead of the Italian diversion. Which, incidentally, would probably change the course of Italian history no matter whether it failed or not.

Likely it would just change some dates we all have to remember.  At worst the Iron Curtain is a few hundred miles further west.

WWII would probably last a year or two longer, but the Allies would still win in the end.
