This is a necessary amendment to make sure that punishments for breaking the law actually mean something.

I support this.

Perhaps it would be useful to specify that bans from voting are also applicable at both levels.

Unless I'm misreading opebo's opinion, I don't think a constitutional amendment is necessary.  Only a change to the CCJA seems to be required to mirror the language of Article V, Section 1, Clause 1.

Of course, I dissent from even that interpretation.

Anyway, I can understand why the opinion seems unclear because it skips a number of steps required to reach its conclusion.

Yeah, good catch. Really don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. Consider this bill amended by my hand unless someone objects.

Good, especially with what has happened recently.

I'll propose an amendment tomorrow night if nothing happened then, since someone asked me to wait.

Edit: So, I propose to add "at any level of government" (text of Article V, Section I, Clause I of the Constitution) with each mention of ''in any Atlasian election'' and ''any office under the Republic of Atlasia'' in the Consolidated Criminal Justice Act. It will require a couple of changes in the law and it is way too late, so I'll write it tomorrow.

I suppose that will solve everything more simply, won't it? I accept the amendment as friendly unless someone objects within 24 hours.

This amendment will have the full backing of the RPP machine behind it and I hope other parties follow the lead
