Age: 42
Party: Socialist
Address: Isaacstown
Place of Birth: Stovesby Island
Occupation: Docker, Union activist (shop steward)
Brief Biography: worked on the docks from an early age and became active in the G&T. Decorated war veteran. Elected Councillor for Isaacstown South & Island in 1950, re-elected 1953. Member of the Housing Committee.
Other: Anglican (weak), member of the G&TWU

The next bit would normally be sent to me, rather than posted here.

Place of Work: Stovesby Island
Property Owned: none
Conflicts of Interest: nothing serious, though most of his family live in decaying terraces on Stovesby Island and not only is he on the Housing Committee, but he's on the sub-committee on the construction of the Hellsby Estate.
Past Scandals: allegations of rigged internal G&T elections, allegations of punishment beatings, allegations of electoral fraud in the 1946 municipal election. Nothing even proven.
Sexuality: straight
Addictions: alcohol
Medical Conditions: none that he knows of
Bigotries: hates homosexuals, dislikes most of the new immigrants.
Corrupt Activity: has taken a few backhanders relating to his role on the Hellsby sub-committee.
Other Criminal Activity: the thing about punishment beatings is true, also successfully blackmailed a councillor into retireing.
Other: a former Communist, but now an aggressive anticommunist in the Deakin mold

Name: Shaun Walsh
Age: 35
Party: Liberal
Address: Soult
Place of Birth: St. George
Occupation: Professor of Politics
Other: moderate Catholic
Brief Biography: Shaun Walsh is a decedent of Irish Catholic merchants who migrated from Dublin to Stovesby following Catholic Emancipation, though as his name indicates, they too were Welsh migrants to the island, at some point.  His father, Brian, remains an upper-middle class merchant in the St. George ward (he owns a smoke shop).  His mother, Mary, was killed during The Blitz.  His family has been with the Liberal Party since moving to England, and he remains a loyal member.  Walsh served one year with the Red Devils during the Second World War; his first major action was in Operation Market-Garden.  After the war, he attended the University of Edinburgh, for his entire academic career, and has taught classes at the local university for three years.  This is his first term as a Councilor.

Name: Mr David Pitman
Age: 32 56
Party: Conservative
Address: Sunnybrae
Place of Birth: Stovesby
Occupation: Formerly a police officer, presently runs a private security firm.
Brief Biography: Raised in Isaacstown, David Pitman’s father, John, was a well-respected police officer, rising to the rank of Inspector. Upon his retirement from the constabulary, John Pitman established a private security firm, a family business now run by David. David Pitman followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the police force and serving faithfully until his father’s death, whereupon he assumed management of his father’s security firm.
Other: His middle-class background makes him not entirely popular among many of his Conservative colleagues. It is also well-known in union circles that his security firm has been used to enforce lock-outs and escort non-union labour in strike breaking.

It said three important ones but I don't see where it said I have to join.

It would be kinda hard to be in the "Constitution" Party of a country that doesn't have one, don't you think?  Plus, this is England, parties mean even more there than they do here.

As you've stated elsewhere that you need leftists, I would happily role-play one.

Bearing in mind the period (and 'place') this is set in, I doubt you could play one especially convincingly*. You'd be an ideal fit for a Residents Association character, fwiw, and having them active could make things on the right more interesting.

*While there's no reason not to play a character with very different views to the ones that you have in the real world, unless there's empathy there on some level, then its probably best not to veer too far away. The same would apply to me, actually; I wouldn't be able to 'play' a Thatcherite in something like this without resorting (perhaps not even consciously) to some pretty crude stereotyping.

Name: Peter Courtenay
Age: 47
Party: MSP
Address: East Stovesby, Isaactown Borough
Place of Birth: Preston
Occupation: Councillor, sometime G&TW Union apparatchik, summer Senior Stevedore.
Brief Bio: Born into a lower-middle class Catholic family in Preston, moved to Stovesby with his next door neighbour at 17 to work on the docks, living with his aunt and cousins. Quickly excelled in the GW&T Union thanks in part to his leading of a sit-in in 1933 that turned violent but gained better safety conditions at the docks. A weekly worshipper but not overly devout Catholic, he married Eileen O'Brien at 21 but lost his wife during the war in a bombing raid. He was not in Stovesby for the duration of the war, but does not talk about his war experience. He has no children. He won his first preselection as a candidate by beating an MSP stalwart, Jamie Jones, and is currently serving his second term as councillor. He lives alone in a modest but comfortable conjoined cottage near Connaght Town.
Other: He has a very even temperament, but when he does get passionate he can lose sense and get aggressive. He feels comfortable with his duel power bases in his ward but is frustrated by the broader MSP bureaucracy.

Name: John Fredericks
Age: 59
Party: Conservative
Address: Saint Michael
Place of Birth: Chamberlain, Stovesby
Occupation: Councillor, laywer
Brief Biography: Born into a well-off upper-class family in Chamberlain, studied law at the University of Stovesby before becoming a mildly-successful lawyer in Chamberlain. Moved to the developing coastal areas of Saint Michael in 1940 or so, and became a top leader within the ward's Conservative association. Was elected councillor for Chamberlain in the late 1940s or so.
Other: Rabidly anti-communist, he tried in the past to have prominent Socialists in his ward arrested for 'communist activities' and likes to call the MSP the "Communist Party".

Name: General Aurthur Gordon Fife (Goes by Gordon)
Age: 58
Party: Conservative
Address: Frodsby
Place of Birth: Eastridge
Occupation: A retired General in the British Army, General Fife has been on the Council for one term now. Before then he had served in the Army during WWII and was a commander in the Allie's charge on Berlin. Besides being a lawmaker, he spends much of his time looking after a pub (The King's Wings), owned by his regularly ill brother.
Brief Biography: Born into a strictly Conservative family, General Fife has always held the "Old World Traditions" above the current ways. He is married to his wife, Rosaleen, and has three children, two sons and one daughter. The General is very suspicious of the Socialists and connects them directly with the USSR. He was elected in 1951.
Other: Is a close ally with John Fredricks because of their mutual anti-communism leanings.

Name: Thomas Murphy
Age: 39
Party: Socialist
Address: Shaddyside
Place of Birth: Low Town
Occupation: Councillor, BLU apparatchik, (previously) Construction Worker,
Brief Biography: Being born into a lower class Irish family in the worst slumhouse in Low Town was bound to radicalize the young Thomas Murphy. Drawing on the writings of Scottish Socialist John MacLean, Murphy was essentially thrown into Socialism out of neccessity due to his families socio-economic background of poverty. When his family fled the decaying Lowtown slum for the immigrant friendly Shaddyside he and his brother became construction workers with the help before eventually joining the BLU. His good social skills made him friends in the workplace and eventually he became a important apparatchik in the BLU structure, which has brought him into conflict with several of the more traditionally conservative members of the BLU and the Irish community; although notably he is among the most popular among the "new guard" in the union and has lead many of the younger members into the welcoming arms of the MSP. He's also well liked in the local constabulary of the district and seems friendly with the local inspector. He was elected councillor for Shaddyside in 1948 with broad support among the population and has been reelected in each election since.
Other: Catholic (very weak, but keeps a strong public image due to his district), Member of the BLU

Brief Biography: Born in Stovesby in the slums of St Jude's, Roger Finch left the city as a young man to work in the pits of Shovington. He soon became active in trade union activities, and he has been involved in Stovesby politics since Shovington was annexed by the city.
Other: Irreligious; did not serve in the war. Widower.
