Brief Biography: Raised in Isaacstown, David Pitman’s father, John, was a well-respected police officer, rising to the rank of Inspector. Upon his retirement from the constabulary, John Pitman established a private security firm, a family business now run by David. David Pitman followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the police force and serving faithfully until his father’s death, whereupon he assumed management of his father’s security firm.
Other: His middle-class background makes him not entirely popular among many of his Conservative colleagues. It is also well-known in union circles that his security firm has been used to enforce lock-outs and escort non-union labour in strike breaking.
