This thread will contain two lists - active PC's and significant NPC's. If an NPC's name is here, that NPC matters in some way or other. Names of NPC's can come and go from the list without them being killed off, fwiw.

Douglas was born in Culzeansands at his fathers residence and summered there each year, After graduating from university the moved back to the city. He is currently a bachelor.

Name: Mr David Pitman
Age: 56
Party: Conservative
Address: Sunnybrae
Place of Birth: Stovesby
Occupation: Formerly a police officer, presently runs a private security firm.
Brief Biography: Raised in Isaacstown, David Pitman’s father, John, was a well-respected police officer, rising to the rank of Inspector. Upon his retirement from the constabulary, John Pitman established a private security firm, a family business now run by David. David Pitman followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the police force and serving faithfully until his father’s death, whereupon he assumed management of his father’s security firm.
Other: His middle-class background makes him not entirely popular among many of his Conservative colleagues. His security firm has an extremely bad name in Union circles.

Name: Peter Courtenay
Age: 47
Party: MSP
Address: East Stovesby, Isaactown Borough
Place of Birth: Preston
Occupation: Councillor, sometime G&TW Union apparatchik, summer Senior Stevedore.
Brief Bio: Born into a lower-middle class Catholic family in Preston, moved to Stovesby with his next door neighbour at 17 to work on the docks, living with his aunt and cousins. Quickly excelled in the GW&T Union thanks in part to his leading of a sit-in in 1933 that turned violent but gained better safety conditions at the docks. A weekly worshipper but not overly devout Catholic, he married Eileen O'Brien at 21 but lost his wife during the war in a bombing raid. He was not in Stovesby for the duration of the war, but does not talk about his war experience. He has no children. He won his first preselection as a candidate by beating an MSP stalwart, Jamie Jones, and is currently serving his second term as councillor. He lives alone in a modest but comfortable conjoined cottage near Connaght Town.
Other: He has a very even temperament, but when he does get passionate he can lose sense and get aggressive. He feels comfortable with his duel power bases in his ward but is frustrated by the broader MSP bureaucracy.

Name: John Fredericks
Age: 59
Party: Conservative
Address: Saint Michael
Place of Birth: Chamberlain, Stovesby
Occupation: Councillor, laywer
Brief Biography: Born into a well-off upper-class family in Chamberlain, studied law at the University of Stovesby before becoming a mildly-successful lawyer in Chamberlain. Moved to the developing coastal areas of Saint Michael in 1940 or so, and became a top leader within the ward's Conservative association. Was elected councillor for Chamberlain in the late 1940s or so.
Other: Rabidly anti-communist, he tried in the past to have prominent Socialists in his ward arrested for 'communist activities' and likes to call the MSP the "Communist Party".

Name: Thomas Murphy
Age: 39
Party: Socialist
Address: Shaddyside
Place of Birth: Low Town
Occupation: Councillor, BLU apparatchik, (previously) Construction Worker,
Brief Biography: Being born into a lower class Irish family in the worst slumhouse in Low Town was bound to radicalize the young Thomas Murphy. Drawing on the writings of Scottish Socialist John MacLean, Murphy was essentially thrown into Socialism out of neccessity due to his families socio-economic background of poverty. When his family fled the decaying Lowtown slum for the immigrant friendly Shaddyside he and his brother became construction workers with the help before eventually joining the BLU. His good social skills made him friends in the workplace and eventually he became a important apparatchik in the BLU structure, which has brought him into conflict with several of the more traditionally conservative members of the BLU and the Irish community; although notably he is among the most popular among the "new guard" in the union and has lead many of the younger members into the welcoming arms of the MSP. He's also well liked in the local constabulary of the district and seems friendly with the local inspector. He was elected councillor for Shaddyside in 1948 with broad support among the population and has been reelected in each election since.
Other: Catholic (very weak, but keeps a strong public image due to his district), Member of the BLU

Name: Roger Finch
Age: 52
Party: Socialist
Address: Shovington
Place of Birth: St Jude's
Occupation: Trade unionist, miner
Brief Biography: Born in Stovesby in the slums of St Jude's, Roger Finch left the city as a young man to work in the pits of Shovington. He soon became active in trade union activities, and he has been involved in Stovesby politics since Shovington was annexed by the city.
Other: Irreligious; did not serve in the war. Widower.
