Jim Jeffords runs as an Independent due to the relative conservatism of the candidates and lack of New Englander on either ticket.

Jeffords would not have had an issue with a Wilson/Warner ticket.  I can't see him jumping to a third party off that.

As for having nobody from New England? So what? With that arguement, then Chris Dodd or Judd Gregg would have ran as a third party in 2008 becasue nobody from New England was on the ticket.
