Unfortunately for Republicans, those two things are virtually exclusive. The Republican primary voters will want someone farther to the right and the general voting populace is unlikely to hand the presidency over to a teabagger or neocon. Therefore...

I believe that only a centrist republican can defeat obama. Maybe tim pawlenty or Bobby Jindal.

How are either Tim Pawlenty or Bobby Jindal 'centrist Republicans'? 

In today's GOP, most anyone to the left of Jesse Helms is a "centrist".

I can't imagine someone like Huckabee (a theocrat and 'fair' tax supporter) being a huge force in 2012. I could be wrong though.
