Apparently rapper 'P.Diddy' has moved his get out the vote campaign to the swing states. Do you think this will have a helpful impact for either candidate, if so, who?

I think that Kerry will benefit from increased African-American turnout in places such as Cleveland, Detroit and Milwaukee.

Most people that listen to Hip Hop are not registered to vote.

P Diddy doesn't actually have many black fans of voting age, at least as a proportion of his fan base.

He's an MTV creation...

If MF Doom or Kool Keith told me to register to vote, I'd do it.

Not P Diddy. Not ever.

Voting isn't cool and isn't something the crowd does that listens to this kind of music. Or, if they do vote, they'll have to make up an excuse to get away long enough to do it. Unless that's changed, of course, and I don't think it has. Impact will likely be minimal. Jackson and co can have more impact in reference to getting out votes by stirring up people in the slums and inner cities by telling them the sort of things like we've seen.

Its good to see that our young 'entertainers' have some sense, and have the clarity of mind not to let religion etc influence their political beliefs.

Eminem is a young entertainer with "sense." Okay. First time I've heard that, including statements about him I've heard from party-inclined college freshmen and high school students. LMAO!!!!!

Hey, Eminem is one guy I'd want my kid to look up to!

It won't have a major impact, but it will have an impact considering how close the election seems to be.  Everyone can knock on them about how young people think it's not cool to vote, and how they won't listen, etc., but I think people will be surprised come Nov. 2nd.

Vote or Die, Rock the Vote, Young Hollywood, Smackdown Your Vote, Drew Barrymore's directing debut on young people and voting, etc. All of these are going to have an impact.

At least he's making an even attempt to get the younger generations to vote.  From the few times I've heard him speak during interviews, he's less worried about a particular candidate and more about educating the inner city "youth."

Just like Madonna.  :-)

The myth of the youth vote has existed since 1972, as President  McGovern can tell you.

The reason that failed is because McGovern was campaigning to end the draft. Nixon stepped in and ended it instead to neutralize this wedge issue. In 1992 young voters turned out very well and voted highly for Clinton. But besides that, I have never seen as much enthusiam with voting among people my age before.

A "whopping" 38.5% of the 18-20 year olds voted in 1992, compared with 48% in 1972.
