The Prohibition Party has ran a candidate for president inevery election since 1872! In 2000 they only managed to get on one state ballot (Colorado) nad manage only 208 votes. Will the Prohibitionists ever call it quits?

In 1998 the Prohibition Party's national headquarters was at Condo unit at left is the "Russell Building," 128 West 11th Ave, Denver, Colorado. Earl Dodge, the party chairman, then sold it in 1999 and moved the headquarters to his house.

In 2000 the Prohibition Nominees were:

President:   Earl F. Dodge (CO) Prohibition Party executive secretary/chairman (independent Baptist)

Vice-President:  W. Dean Watkins (AZ) retired aeronautical engineer (independent Baptist)

I don't think they'll ever call it quits.  Some of their ideals arent' that bad.

I just don't think that reenacting prohibition would go over too well...

Here is their website:  http://www.prohibition.org/

There support fell 6-fold from 96', What does it take to get on the ballot in Colorado, because if its doable they should run. Its the oldest remaining third party  in America.

They're basically no-nonsense Republicans who support prohibition, from what I could see. They would probably get a lot of votes if the GOP didn't hold most of their issues.

Prohibition was a wreck...it did nothing, and in the short term it just gave the mob something to build on.

Kind of like the "War on Drugs" today.

Exactly.

It's ideas on alcohol are not widely excepted outside the Bible Belt.

And there are plenty of dry counties, so I doubt many people feel the need to bring it to the state or national level. It's out of THEIR communities, y'know?

In 1976 the Prohibition (National Statesman) Party nominated it's candidate in a baptist church in a small Colorado town.
