The Washington (state) Supreme Court delivered an opinion in State v. Sieyes on the applicablity of the Second Amendment to the states which is likely to be a preview of the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States in McDonald v. Chicago.

do you think the 14th amendment applies here?

Its the due process clause of the 14th amendment which is being utilized to apply the second amendment to the states just as the same clause is used to apply the first amendment to the states.
