When Alf Landon is sworn in America is deciding if it should fight. Then on May 15th Poland bombs England. The US sends 15000 troops without congressional approval.

1).  The United Kingdom.  England hasn't existed for hundreds of years.

Anyways, I like the part where Poland invades the British Empire, immediately taking it over.

In 1932 Hoover is nominated by his party and is reelected because the Economy was close to crashing but it didn't due to Hoovers massive economic reforms.

.

Republican 268
Democrat 265

Up next Hoovers second term

None of the southern states would have voted for Hoover in 1932, even if he was Super President.

In 1942 however President Taft went to Europe to decrease war chances. During the trip he becomes very ill and comes home. In early 1945 Calvin Coolidge is sworn in for a full term. When August comes he learns that Former-President Hoover will run for US Senate. In October President Coolidge travels across the country.

In 1946 Robert Taft is appointed to be Secretary of State after his predecessor dies. The Senate immediatly confirms him. foreign relations are great. But Iraq overthrows Poland in early December that year. The President is in a crisis.

In 1947 the President says he will not take action unless a war starts. His approvals then skyrocket. President Coolidge announces he will not run for reelection. Thomas Dewey, FDR, Harry Truman, Wendel Wilkie.

1948 The President endorses Dewey for President but President Coolidge's approval is way down.

In 1949 Thurmond is sworn in as President, he immediatly passes legislation that gives the states to much control. Congress begins impeachment process on abuse of power. 7 hearings are held before the house votes 275-132 for impeachment,3 weeks later the Senate votes 60-34 in impeachment. Fielding Wright is sworn in as President.

In 1950 foreign policy has never been better, Robert Taft who was still Secretary of State made 20 foreign trips throughout the year, without even missing the bus! But the economy took a downfall many people lost jobs and homes. President Wright immediately responded to the situation.

In 1951 the economy improved but barely. President Wright addressed the nation on his economic plan. 7 months later FDR died in his sleep. Harry Truman, JFK, Adlai Stevenson all announced hey will run for President on the Democratic side. Thomas Dewey, Alf Landon and Robert Taft all announce they will run.

In 1952 JFK and Harry Truman were nominated for President and VP respectivley. Robert Ttaft and Thomas Dewey for Republicans

How does Thurmond "pass legislation" without Congress?  And if Congress is passing the legislation, why are they impeaching Thurmond for signing the legislation that they themselves passed?

Also, my memory is a bit rusty on this, but don't you need a 2/3rds vote in the Senate to remove the prez from office?  I don't think a simple majority does it.

Also, whatever happened to the crisis in Poland-occupied Iraq?  Wink
