What if you didn't know Harding would die within the next 4/8 years? Back then, the VP spot wasn't "worth a bucket of warm spit", so if Harding would have served out two full terms, Coolidge would have likely never become President. And Coolidge has much less corruption in his Administration than Harding.

Due to the relative unimportance of the VP slot before the 1950s, I seriously doubt that Coolidge would have been a lock for the GOP nomination after Harding's Presidency. He would have likely faced many competitors, and due to his lack of charisma and nonconfrontational style, I'm not sure if he'd be able to win the nomination. I think Harding might have even considered dropping Coolidge in 1924. Cooldige wasn't Harding's original choice for VP, and thus if Harding finished out his term or two, I'm not even sure Harding would have supported Coolidge's bid for the GOP nomination.

Well I think Coolidge would have ended up being the nominee and president anyway.

But I guess I'll vote Coolidge here if only out of regional loyalty. Both Harding and Coolidge were great men and superb presidents.
