Just started reading. I hope that President Carter will be able to pull himself out of the coma, although I am not optimistic.

What is the state of Kennedy's career at this point in time?

Well, he's mainly been working against Carter behind the scenes in the Senate. His relationship with Jimmy has really gotten worse since his second term began.

As far as legislation goes, he's personally angry that his Public Option idea has been thrown aside, however, he is supporting the EIA, albeit grudgingly.
