I don't like the idea of Complete or Incomplete, because who's to judge when a TL ends?

Simply, Libertas, simply.

Authors always are saying THE END.

I don't like the idea of Complete or Incomplete, because who's to judge when a TL ends?  It just kind of sinks into obscurity over time.

A number of timelines have reached the present day and then ended.

I'll be back with a few old ones in a second...

Btw, we might want to move Einzige's timeline to inactive.

It also might be cool if writers can provide a description of the TL below the link, so people know what it is about.

NiK, I'll put those in soon, but is it really a good idea to declare certain TLs ongoing or inactive? Because how do we decide when a TL is ongoing or inactive? To add to that, are you really proposing that we check each TL every two months and make a decision?

You might want to get Bacon King to sticky this, like the List of Alternate Presidents...

It wouldn't require that. I know a lot of you check the boarrds every day. If you sort it by most recent update, you could just go to the bottom every day and check if the lowest item is past two months. If it is, then delist it. It could always be readded with a new update.

Anyway, I don't think this Timeline Directory Idea is going to work. I tried putting in the rest of NiK's TLs, and apparently there's a limit of how many characters we can have in a post, and we seem to have exceeded that limit, so IDK, maybe people should just post their TLs to this thread.

That's why you shouldn't include TLs that haven't been updated in over 2 months.

As I recommended, make this into a request thread, and then make a new (locked) thread for the list.

Even if this was a request thread, all the requested TLs would go over the character limit for the locked thread (assuming that the locked thread is only one post, but I'm not sure what you had in mind). justW353, would you like to moderate the locked thread then? You're more than welcome to do so. Smiley

You could put it in multiple posts...As in once you reach the character limit you continue the list in another post.

We an put it into the Completed, Ongoing, and Inactive-type branches, in three separate posts, and alphabetize them. I'd recommend BK start that thread, as he is the Moderator.

Psh, it was very good. If you want to read horror, read my first one. Tongue

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=113650.0 - No Apologies, the election of 2012 timeline.

Also, you could just index the timelines by either title or author, one post being A-M, or A-H, etc etc etc.

Perhaps, but then we wouldn't have excellent TLs such as Marokai's and Lief's in the directory.

I respectfully disagree.  It is only good in comparison with my William Henry Harrison attempt.
