Would anybody be interested in doing a Philadelphia Convention game?  What I had in mind was that each of us would play as a fictional delegate.  We would first elect a presiding officer, then establish rules, propose plans for the new government, and hopefully piece together a new Constitution.

Ideally, there would be more than one delegate for each state, but there would probably be a limit to how many players there are.  A state delegation can have just one delegate.  If nobody plays as a state, we can just assume that they didn't send delegates.  The members of a state's delegation would debate matters relating to the Convention, and propose plans together.  I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that each state would have one vote.  That would be decided on though, at the beginning of the game.

There would be no rules at this point, except for keeping with the time period, although we can have a little fun.  I would be the GM, until we elect a presiding officer.  Rules for things like behavior or expulsion of members will be decided on by vote at the beginning.

Alright, so we might as well post our profiles to keep the thread bumped, and while we're waiting for other people to join.

Name: Morgan Brykein
State: Pennsylvania
Bio: Never quite fought in the Revolution, but supported the cause and supplied militias near his home with food and shelter.  Served in the legislature from 1782, all the way up to the current date.  Believes that the Articles of Confederation need revision, but is suspicious of increasing the power of the national government.

Name: Jacob White
State: New York
Bio: Was a Revolutionary war hero after he was able to save 7 American Soldiers in battle. After that he served in the New York Legislature. In 1784 He was elected Governor of New York. With great policies he was reelected in 1786 but resigned to become a delegate

I think we could also simulate the federal Government under this Constitution.

You named a late-18th century figure 'Jake'?  You meant 'Jacob', surely?  Wink

The brilliant part is that when people who signed up don't actually participate on the thread, it actually mirrors the convention startlingly well.
