I read awhile back that MoveOn and other democratic GOTV organizations were paying their "volunteers" to go register new people, and to work during the election.  Is the republican GOTV doing the same, or are they not getting paid.  If they are not getting paid, which I think is the case, then their motivation is much greater.  I think we may find out that the volunteers will GOTV much better than the "paid-a-teers".

Republican GOTV is not getting paid.  It is an all volunteer staff.

The Democrats have described their as "professionals" which is also how they described the vote registration drives that registered Mary Poppins and DIck Tracy.  If they pay people for the number of warm bodies they bring to the polls I think they will end up with the "professionals" bringin a fair number of Republicans along with the  Democrats.
