How did the '04 campaign rate?

What will be worth remembering about the '04 campaign, if anything?

What were memorable quotes from the candidates?

Many voters have been saying to the media the candidates have not said what they will do about the intractable issues.

It's so ironic that such an important campaign was dominated by such minutiae.  That being said I think the Swift Boat Vets for Truth will go down in history as the pivotal moment in the campaign.  They knocked Kerry off stride and he has never really recovered.  Since the republican convention Bush has held a lead (albeit a pretty slim one) over Kerry.

I think if Kerry wins, he'll regret his comments that he made about our allies in Iraq.

Bush could have ripped the French and Russians for their part in the Oil for Food scandal, but didn't, because he knows he has to deal with them in the future on other issues and didn't want to alienate them.  He was being very diplomatic.

Kerry by his remarks about the 'coerced and bribed', will sour those countries towards us should Kerry get elected.

First, liberal media commited suicide in the effort to defeat Bush. Credibility (and influence among most people) zero.

Second, foreign billionaires couldn't buy election.

Third, 'gay marriage' is an oxymoron.

Kerry's not having a clear plan cost him a lot. Not having a clear or even logical Iraq position cost him more. The Swifties were a factor, but not the only one.

I was beginning to think I was the only one to notice.
