There is some other business we need to attend to soon though.  We need to figure out our endorsements for the August election.

But yes, I think joining on an individual basis is the best course of action unless we have an official request or something similar to create a merger.  We'll just have to wait and see...but things are looking grim for the DA....

Yep. The Democratic Alliance is, of course, centrist so I'd say the most reasonable course of action  is to create a welcoming environment for ex DAers as opposed to some kind of over-aggressive recrutiment strategy...

Anyway, let's stop yapping about other parties and get on with our elections, endorsements and so on. Tongue

Subtlety isn't something to be expected from a party named after its leader.

Can anyone compile a list of candidates for the upcoming elections (regional or otherwise) during this month?  We need to get those candidates sorted out and endorsed.

I vote for all unopposed candidates and:

Whip
1) Oakvale
2) Marokai Blue

As wonderful as Marokai is, voting for him would result in a tie, and he's already VP, so... Wink

Secretary
1) RG Fritz'
2) Bacon King

He's already RG so this seems like a natural fit for him. I'm sure Bacon King would do well, too! Smiley

As for Senate candidates, from what I follow we have three JCP members running:

Bacon King
Badger
Kalwejt

I would of course recommend the usual triple endorsement that is acceptable in the STV elections.

We also have these folks who can we vote on for preferences #4 and #5:
AndrewCT
Libertas
Duke
A-Bob

I'll admit I haven't followed the regional elections as closely. Pacific Governor is Oakvale vs Xahar, and I believe Pacific Lt. Governor is ArchangelZero unopposed.

Yes, that is correct.  I'm not sure about the other regions though, I'll check the candidate declaration thread a little later about it.

The unopposed folks are elected, obviously. Of the competitive races, the results are:

WHIP
7 - Oakvale
5 - Marokai Blue

SECRETARY
5 - Bacon King
6 - Fritz
1 - Abstain

It'd be hard for him to run in the Mideast given that he's in the Southeast Wink

That was for the July elections. After the July elections, Useful Idiot left the Mideast for the Southeast.

Okay, endorsements.  Obviously our party candidates for the top 3, and I think Duke deserves the #4 spot.  For 5th preference, I'm torn between A-Bob and AndrewCT.

Thoughts?

I think Andrew should get the 4th spot, and then give Duke number 5.
