This is true of most Asian countries where both are located, not just China. This generally holds held true in Thailand and Pakistan and is likely the case in Japan.

The spread of American fast food to Asia is really sad.

Lactose intelorance is much more prevalent in Asia than in many other areas, so KFC would be more popular there since they have almsot no chesse products. I know they have regoinal varieties for McDonalds food in Asia, but still.

I wouldn't eat fast food if I were in China, that's for sure.....but it's what the consumers want, isn't it?

At least the spread is reciprocal, even if I'd rather eat dog's testicles (it's quite good actually) than most "Chinese" food in the west,

I don't know... I actually think most "Americanized Cantonese" food is just fine.

It is the same here in Thailand - most Thais quite like KFC, but don't care for hamburger shops at all.

Actually if you think about it, it is no suprise - Thais have eaten their own version of fried chicken for ages, as no doubt have most other countries.  However ground beef sandwiches are really quite alien to Asians.

I never go to KFC here, because if I want fried chicken I can go to a local chain 'Five Star Chicken', which are outdoor stands, with much more delicious chicken served with sticky rice for about 1/3 the price of the KFC.

Don't be pissed because no one wants bangers and mash or whiting and french fries east of Moscow.

I don't think Al is upset with American companies satisfying the demands of the consumer, rather he's upset the Asian consumer is demanding the fast food.
