No. Grayson was worse.  It's not like the Insurance Commissioner is a huge name in state politics like Grayson and he didn't have the endorsements of Whitman.

It's hard to beat $80 million dollars in a primary.

Specter.  Halter.  Lowden.

And of course, Andre Bauer.

I Don't know if it counts as "This Cycle", but Martha Coakley.  Anyone who can lose a Senate Seat as a Dem in Mass, especially as a state-wide incumbent, deserves a metion

Halter? Come on, that's ridiculous. He was up against an incumbent who many people thought he wouldn't even be able to force into a runoff.

But none of them had the deck so stacked against them as Poizner.

Very few candidates could have beaten $80 mil of advertising from Whitman plus all the party support behind her.

Poizner never had a chance, which places Grayson, Lowden and Specter above him immediately.

This thread is ridiculous,  Whitman spends $80 million dollars in like three months for a PRIMARY, is backed by the entire establishment both in the state and nationally, with Poizner having been on the record as a moderate as someone who has already been in politics, and suddenly Poizner is guilty of running one of the worst campaigns ever?

Ridiculous and stupid suggestion when compared to this cycle's other flops we've seen.

What about Campbell? He went from leading in all of the polls to losing by 35 points.

That was practically of no fault of his own. Fiorina just kept writing checks to herself so she could stay perpetually on air.

Anyway, I point, as someone else did, to Martha Coakley. She blew a 40-point lead in TWO MONTHS.

Yeah, I don't see how Poizner and Campbell can be faulted for being abandoned by their party and forced to try to outspend billionaires.

And I don't see how anybody could epic fail more than Vic Rawl in South Carolina.

Campbell's opponent didn't spend $80 million, so........

Hey, now.  Vic Rawls was up against the Greene Machine.  60% is not luck, or so I'm told.
