"Fox News North" coming to Canada

Media giant Quebecor has bought the rights to start a new news next work beginning January 11th to form an "alternative" viewpoint to that of the existing newsnetworks (CTV and CBC). It is no secret that it'll be a right wing network much like FOX is. Quebecor owns the Sun media tabloid newspaper franchise in Canada, which is known for its right wing editorials. (Think of the unrelated, but similar British Sun)

Any thoughts? I am interested to see a new network, even though I will not be a supporter of their ideas. Word is they tried to poach Rick Mercer from CBC, which would be like Fox trying to get Jon Stewart.

I don't know about CTV. CTV is more like Canada's CNN while CBC is like MSNBC, except less obvious.
