Unlike the Leader of the Opposition, Jack Layton stands for something other than Moderate Heroism. Hopefully he will one day be Leader of the Opposition. Obviously I don't want an NDP National Government, but it certainly would be nice to have the two dominant parties in Canada to actually have an ideological drive rather than to sway in the wind the way the Liberals do.

He's one of the good guys. He's also their most effective leader since Broadbent.

I'm a Liberal and wouldn't vote NDP, but Layton is a fundamentally very good man with principles, values and leadership. In fact, I'd rather have a man like him than a man like Ignatieff (who, ftr, I am ambivalent about) as leader of my party.

I don't always agree with him, but he is much better than authoritarian Harper and the weak and useless Ignatieff.

Seems like a good person....although I'd probably still vote Conservative if forced to choose between them and NDP.

Trust me, you're too smart and too moderate to vote Tory.

I think my choice is rather obvious Wink

What spurred this poll, btw?

I've been reading a bit about Canadian politics this week and I thought Jack Layton seemed like an epic FF, I wanted to know if it was just me. Tongue

About Layton? I just like his party, he seems like an effective leader and he seems like a genuinely decent politician. His performances at the Commons question period are pretty great too, from what i've seen.
