Like... in GPA?  Or what?  Anything?

Well, I got a D in Curling class because I missed a bunch of times and didn't make them up.  (You had to go to the curling club in the evening and either curl or watch and record the major points of the current playing curling team.. and I had a job so that didn't go so well).

Otherwise I had like a minimum of 3.0 GPA.

I really liked my system in high school.  It was quite clear cut:

90%+ was an A
80-89% was a B
70-79% was a C
60-69% was a D
59% and below was an F/no credit.

WIth the GPA, it's also pretty standard

3.5-4.0=A Average
2.5-3.4=B Average
1.5-2.4=C Average
0.5-1.4=D Average
>0.5=You're trying to fail and you can't even succeed at that.

So before everybody blabs on about their lowest scores... keep in mind that grading scales are hardly uniform.  So rather than just proudly boasting... explain the context of that score first.

Thank you.

I had a 4.0 in high school (which, honestly, isn't a tremendous achievement) and maintained one in college for quite some time ... but you run into classes in college that just don't seem all that worth it.

I had a few of those, which were all prerequisite classes -- College Algebra, Natural Disasters, Music 100 and an anthropology lab.

College Algebra was a transfer credit, so only the hours mattered -- the fact that I got a B in the class didn't affect my overall GPA. The other three were just so ... ugh. Natural Disasters was almost impossible to stay awake for; Music 100 was the most ridiculous and patronizing college course I've ever taken, and I rarely went to my anthropology lab, so despite near-perfect scores on all the assignments and one of the only As in the lecture, attendance counted for a big chunk of the lab grade.

I think there was only one of my major classes that I got less than an A in, though, and even then, it was a B ... which I gladly took. I wrapped up college with a 3.8 and have no complaints about that.

I almost didn't graduate HS because I failed the final semester of gym. Well, I bet I have a lower BMI than most of my classmates who passed that gym class now have. So I win, or something.  Oh yeah, we had a 200 question gym final. WTF?

You had gym all through high school?

I had 3 quarters of gym in all of high school and only 2 of them were required.

Look at us in PA, we're so smart and ready for the world because we have 4 required gym classes Tongue

It was a block schedule so 1 year is required in all of high school.

It's required pretty much all the time from K-8.

And don't get snippy.  We have the lowest rate of childhood obesity in the nation.

Hm, I think I got a 79 one six weeks, but those didn't go on our permanent records, only our semester averages. My lowest semester average was like an 87 or 88.

God, I don't remember the grades I got last semester let alone throughout my academic life.  I do remember one time I failed a take home test because I was too lazy to realize there was a back to the sheet.  WHOOPS

80% or something, likely a bit higher. Lowest grade on a printed report in one class was 59% in science, grade 10, in November (where like only one test counted). Best average ever is likely Grade 12, 91% or so. Best mark in a printed report in one class was 98% in IB2 Grade 12 French which I took in Grade 11.

Given how I managed my 2 last years of high school, it wasn't hard for me to have low average.

The lowest I had has certainly been 1/20, in Maths, at the end of the last-but-one year before graduation. Hmm, since I gave most of tests blank iirc, I wonder how I even managed to have 1 point...

Other than that I finished this year with a general average of 7 or 8/20 iirc. Hmm, I don't know if I did much better the year of graduation, I've a memory of an average of 5/20, but not sure it was the general average.

Anyhow, before I stopped to work, well, I used to be with a general average of about 15-16/20, at worst I might have been around 12 sometimes, my highest I think it has been in English, 18/20 at the end of middle school.

Well, you were better than me. Wink I used to have around 14 for the entire Collège and then high 12s- low 13s in the lycée (except in the last trimester, when I got a 15.1 in a massive upset Tongue).

I got a 70% in Spanish one semester because my organizational skills left a lot to be desired (luckily, I rebounded and got an 88% in the next semester). Usually I'm a high B to low A in a mix of advanced and standard classes (though mostly advanced).
