Paton is a good candidate, imo.

Giffords is favored at the moment, but this should be a race to watch as the campaign drags on.

Well I meant a race to watch in the sense that we should wait & see if it becomes competitive. Tongue

The Tarrance Group isnīt probably worth much. Read this:

Few expect Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D, Md.) to lose this November, but a recent poll by Tarrance Group, a Republican polling firm, gives Eric Wargotz a 34–31 percent lead over the incumbent. In light of this poll, Wargotz has pledged an additional $500,000 to his campaign.

That comes when Rasmussen and PPP have released polls recently that have Mikulski ahead by 30% against Wargotz ... Tongue

Yes they did date and were great friends in high school.  Its a shame that Giffords isnt conservative - she would really appeal to the state in lots of ways, but instead shes too liberal for the district shes in (R+4). She isnt anything even close to a centrist democrat.

Paton had a pretty crappy fundraising quarter -- after raising a ridiculous amount of money in 1Q, he only pulled in $167k this time. Not much farther ahead of his primary opponent Jesse Kelly, who raised $122k. He's going to have to do a lot better to beat Gabby and her $2.2 million.

That was a poll of Baltimore County, not the state as a whole

Although Baltimore County is only about 6 or so points more Conservative than the state as a whole (56.5% Obama vs. 62% Statewide)

LOL @ the two candidates having dated (is that a first?) and at an internal poll showing a oh-so-tactical 1 point lead.
