Why would the bank's hours be in the middle of the night? New Zealand time is very different than ours.

This time of year it wouldn't be that bad. M-F 9am-3pm New Zealand time is Su-Th 3pm-9pm Mountain time.

They've been in business over 10 years and it's absolutely impossible to be in business that long and conduct illegal business.

Remember, the recession didn't hit Oklahoma as hard as other parts of the country, so that's a plus.

Yes, the red states didn't get hit as hard, partially because we are subsidizing them. California is really hurting. But in any case, I would imagine that finding a new job probably isn't that easy there either.  If you can't get your current job back and you're going to run out of cash by September, you might be lucky to get a job at McDonalds.

How is that the moral of the story? I'd say it is rather "listen to anyone who posted in this thread".

I don't think anyone posted anything other than warnings.

Not on the first page.

He was beaten by this.

That said, I'd be careful of such firms.  I've had my resume on CB and Monster and got a lot of crap that was not Accounting related and looked like a scam.

The first thing  did, though, was call ONG's HR department and he is going to sit down with the HR manager and the hiring supervisor of my department and see what he can do.

He should let me know by tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.  One job I should hear back from either the end of the day today or first thing tomorrow.

1) Yeah that's not encouraging.

2) How is that possible for any job other than a minimum wage one?  No one knows that fast or is that desperate considering you only called on them today.

Maybe they just don't believe in interviews in Oklahoma? Yeah, weird.

Opie, you could bring some ladies back with you and be a pimp. Lol

Ugh.  Little life lesson for you fellows - don't ever turn what you love into a job.  You'll just ruin the fun in it.

So you'll never be a porn star?

I don't think it's all that strange. He had a job there as of just a few days ago, so he wouldn't need to go through a lot of the formalities of a typical interview. And maybe they're just seeing if they can pull some strings and place him in his old spot or elsewhere within the company where a transition would be easy.

I don't mean his old job, obviously his supervisor and HR should be able to decide without an interview.  I meant that some other job might not require an interview, although it's unclear what "hear back from" means.

In case Ameripride falls through tonight, I've got another interview tomorrow morning at 11:15 with a marketing company located here in Oklahoma City just north of the OKC Airport.  This would have a guaranteed salary and benefits of $3,000 a month (IN WRITING) for Platinum Services.

So, I've suddenly gone from a hopeless case of despair about 3:00 this afternoon to 2 interviews within the next 24 hours just 90 minutes later at the current time of 4:30.

Wow, the job market sounds a lot better there than it is here. And of course one can live on these kinds of money there. Here, you'd be screwed with that kind of money, and you need 6 digits to consider buying a house in any sort of reasonable neighborhood.

I don't think he read them... Sounds like a pryamid to me..

Well, at least it's a slow train wreck as opposed to a fast train wreck.
