Maybe his persona isn't real, but Derek the person is real. jmfsct confirmed so on Facebook.

aside from him being a real person, i think his a lot of his opinions could not be made up - he's not joking.

Maybe his opinions on the Bible, but a lot of his political beliefs sound straight from the Rush Limbaugh Show.
Which doesn't exactly go a long way towards convincing me they're fake...

No, I think he's fine, he just has a problem communicating his message through this medium.

i don't think transmission is his issue, rather it's the content

I think Derek lacks the ability to have “second thoughts”….he latches onto the first thing that sounds good to him and runs a marathon with it, without giving it a second thought.  Some people might have only one strange facet (e.g. 9/11 doubters) but the rest of their life may be fairly normal, but every facet of Derek is strange.  He’s like an unabridged version of nonsense.

Late edit:  actually, I don't know how to describe Derek, I'm just glad I don't know anyone like him

Anyways, this poll lacks the "easy way out" third option that's making the current Libertas poll such a runaway success, and I think it is the poorer for it.

He's clearly in way over his head.  What makes him annoying is that he doesn't think so.

Gentlemen, I disagree.  This is where he's really at:
