Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush tells WHAS11 News he is "not running for President."

The Republican's name has been widely circulated in recent weeks as a potential contender in the 2012 race.  A Jeb Bush candidacy would perpetuate the Bush political dynasty which includes the presidencies of his father and brother.

Bush is in Louisville to speak about education reform at the National Conference of State Legislatures.  His Tuesday morning appearance is to highlight Florida's success improving students' educational performance, particularly Latino students.

Bush hosted a fundraiser on Monday in Louisville for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul, who is a critic of U.S. education policy being directed by the federal government, rather than in local communities and states.  While Bush said that Florida's education success is the product of state initiative, he complimented President Barack Obama's contribution to education policy.

^ Maybe he'll run for senate in 2012 if he is serious about running for president ever in life. Better do it before HW dies or he'll be cryin in the death bed

Jeb Bush was born in 1953. My guess is that, if does eventually run, he would do so for the year 2016.

He had no future anyway.

This.

And it makes so much sense to, too. He stands no chance in 2012 because the Bush name is tarnished. Come 2016, people will have grown up and realized that just because his brother was deemed bad doesn't mean he will follow suit. Run in 2012 and be smeared as he would be would end his chances for good.

That's why I'm glad Romney didn't get the nomination in 2008. He has a chance now in 2012, which I think he wouldn't have had if he faced a devastating loss in 2008.

Jeb's policies in Florida as Governor were very similar to W's policies in Texas as Governor.

Also, Jeb was a signatory of the neo-con Project For A New American Century.

Jeb's Presidency would be a smarter, smoother version of his brother's.

I guess nothing to get nostalgic about until at least 2016.

I knew he wouldn't run in 2012. Obama can tag him to negatives via his brother (just as he did with McCain in 08), so he'll probably wait until 2016, if at all. I think Jeb could win and be a wonderful President, personally, I just don't think he'll win.

In 2016 he'll be a has-been.  Already dangerously close as it is.

edit: I guess if he were a major part of a Presidential Cabinet he could stay relevant.  Of course it would have to be a one-termer for him to run in 2016 then

He'll run in 2012 if the 2010 midterms go well for the GOP.  He doesn't have to declare until next year and it would be easy for him to raise money with a last-second entry.
