JFK Jr. isn't killed in a plane crash. Thus, he decides to run for the Senate (from NY) in 2000. He wins that election. Bush still wins the Presidency in 2000 and proceeds to invade Afghanistan and Iraq after 9/11, as in RL. JFK Jr. runs for and wins the Democratic nomination in 2004, while Republicans renominate Bush. JFK Jr. promises to end the Iraq War (which he initially supported and then flip-flopped on), to improve America's international reputation, to revive the economy, to reform healthcare, and to fight global warming. Bush argues that JFK Jr. is weak on terrorism and that the U.S. needs a strong leader to fight America's enemies abroad. The economy is the same as in RL. You pick the VPs. Who would win? Discuss, with maps.

It would not even be close. JFK, Jr. was long regarded as Presidential timber. Kennedy was always very popular and it's unlikely that Bush could've defeated him. Bush had a tough time with Kerry and he didn't beat Gore (Sorry, but he didn't). Imagine what a charismatic guy like John would've done to Bush.

I changed the scenario and made JFK Jr. initially support the war and then flip-flop just to make it more interesting, after reading your comments. And the Supreme Court said that Bush beat Gore.

Bush/McCain (R) - Bush picks someone more charismatic and popular than Cheney
Kennedy/Edwards (D)

Bush wins barely. Sorry, but the description of John John could fit the name of virtually all of the Dem candidates in 04

Except that it's John John, who was very charismatic and therefore would probably narrowly defeat Bush
