Angle seems to have recovered quite a bit from her last Mason-Dixon poll. Seems that this will end up being a very tight race.

Fake libertarian?  Lulz.

I prefer her over Reid, certainly.

Then you support alcohol prohibition and the promotion of Scientology's authoritarian agenda.

Sharron Angle is many things - some kooky - but I think we can be quite sure that she's a Christian (not that that's truly all that much better than being a Scientologist). She says that she does not support alcohol prohibition (her comments on that matter seem to be apocryphal), and in fact has hinted that she would support legalizing drugs.

She agrees with libertarians maybe 40-50% of the time, which is a lot better than her opponent, who agrees with us 0% of the time.

I do not.  Nor does Sharron Angle.

Why are you telling this to me?  I wasn't stupid enough to support Angle in the primary, unlike 40.1% of NV Republicans.

Seriously, what were they THINKING?!

Is there seriously any way Angle can somehow seal the deal and defeat Reid by a comfortable margin? Her baggage seems to be getting worse than Reid's.

Of course.  It's only August.  The election is 3 months away.  The opposite could easily happen, too.

Cinyc is correct obviously.

It's not like Reid's fundamentals are like Manchin's or something here.

They were probably thinking about bartering chickens for health care, but I'm not sure.

It's important to remember 40.1% of NV Republicans is not a majority.

Angle would have lost to Lowden in a runoff IMO.

Don't these people realize that not voting is just going to get Reid elected?

Whine all you want but she has a very effective ad strategy that pummels Reid on Nevada's economy.  Her TV ad presence has been consistent: focusing on forclosures, jobs lost and unnecessary spending while talking to a town hall of Nevadans, and she has cut Reids lead since the last Mason Dixon poll so the ads have to be working.

Shes also raking in the cash.  Regardless of the oddball statements (and its not like Reid hasnt made a few himself-"coal makes us sick" anyone?), she can counter Reids media presence and that gives her a big chance to keep Reids ability to define her at bay.

She's already been defined. That's her biggest hurdle.

By the national media yes - but not by the voters, and if she were, which definition would you rather have: the kooky lady with some oddball views but in general shares the views of most Nevadans (ie cutting spending, lowering taxes, restoring values, etc.) or to be defined and known as the kooky man who more than once openly defied the will of Nevadans on healthcare and many other issues while the state has gigantic unemployment.

She has been defined. There is a reason she went from leading by double digits to now losing by single digits. She does have to make this about Reid, but Reid has successfully shifted the limelight onto her for now.

It's important to remember 40.1% of NV Republicans is not a majority.

Angle would have lost to Lowden in a runoff IMO.

You think the Tark's supporters would have flocked to Lowden??

No way, no way.  Tark was defined by anti-Lowdenism, he never had anything going for himself.

Angle would have cleaned Lowden's clock in a run-off election held within two weeks after the actual election date.  The roots would have rallied to Angle [like RedState was a big Tark fan, but still loved Angle over Lowden just like they do Buck over Norton].

Tarkanian had no natural base, and the more that election turnout dropped off due to a run-off election, the better Angle would do... why would anyone turn out to vote for Lowden in a special run-off election?  Anyone?  Seriously.
