Post controversial or divisive or bluntly and blatantly honest posts you agree with here.

Why must the right always have some sort of boogeyman?

To preserve false consciousness in the American working and middle class. It's much easier to get these people to vote for your right-wing corporatist party when they think the enemy is Muslims and gays instead of the entities (the energy companies, the insurance companies, the union-busters, the outsourcers, etc.) that are actually doing them harm.

Don't just +1 great unfunny posts, show them off!

Put this in perspective. Some radical Christians burn a Quran, some radical Muslims kill thousands in suicide attacks around the globe.

Does this even dignify a response?

Under the guise of being an independent minded person, Vepres consistently either defends Republican politicians, attempts to make something stupid or irresponsible done or said by right-wing figures seem slightly less stupid or irresponsible, and, regardless of what it is, will try to play devil's advocate because he refuses to agree with almost anything being said by left-wing figures on the site.

Of course, if a Democrat says something, he hates them, and if something is proposed by Democrats, is radical government intervention and Socialism. And naturally, he will make routine false equivalencies, such as what you just read, or comparing Code Pink and MoveOn.org to people like Tea Party groups, equate FoxNews and MSNBC as if they are equally biased and naturally, that means equally wrong, and someone like Andrew Breitbart totally = Michael Moore.

He will, however, chastise anyone who goes after Republicans by saying "you always interpret things in the most radical way possible."

And naturally, regardless of anything Republicans do, he will always support them over Democrats, no matter what he may say to anyone's face.

But remember, Independent avatar. Totally not partisan.

No. His party's greatest liability is that he's been a piss poor President. Well, that and mass unemployment.

"Piss poor" is awfully strong.

Yeah, that's nice.

Look, you and I both know where this is going.  We also both know that you're not going to change.

So.  You could spare us all a lot of fuss, stress and time and leave Dave's forum for good, now, and still claim some kind of moral high ground.  You could move to some of those other 'bastions of free speech' you mentioned earlier.

Or you could put us all through that and then be banned in a few months, disgraced and having achieved absolutely nothing.  Which is it going to be?

(N.B. the "us all" I was talking about was everybody, more or less, not just the mods.)

I can see that this thread already failed by post #4.  Though I am a little surprised it wasn't derailed by BRTD posting an opebo quote.

I'm not worrying about this like the job thing, everyone's got to learn from experience what works and what doesn't in relationships and this particular situation will resolve itself on its own one way or the other fairly soon.

And, on the job front, I've got an interview for a data entry position in the southern suburb of Moore, OK that would pay between $10-$12 an hour working 9-6 M-F.  This would allow me to get a consistent income while my business is building.  I still think Ameriplan is legit and I've had several people around here check it out and they are okay with it.  Not to mention, we were featured on Good Morning America this past Wednesday morning.  By the end of this week I will have already made $335 and will have acquired my first promotion.  It's not much, but it's a good start.

Real jobs pay you a minimum of thousands, if not tens of thousands, of dollars before they promote you.

I do not believe that the only legitimate jobs are an 8-hour a day office job with limited advancement or working in the trades.

Real jobs involve an interview at the company location. Real jobs don't have to be 8-hours a day, be in an office, or have limited advancement, or working in the trades.

This thread is not fail.  It's just such an exclusive club that very few posts ever make the cut.

*sigh*

You know what, Libby? I have a concept that maybe, just maybe, you should give a thought. I know how you feel about ideas that contradict your own beliefs, but hear me out - maybe, just maybe, the guilty party here is you. I've been on more forums than I can count in the last five years. I've seen what moderator abuse looks like, and believe me, it's nothing like this. I remember December 2007 on Neoseeker so clearly, when three mods-in-general went on a power crazed banfest for a good, oh, six to seven months. What do I mean by banfest? I mean, outright banning people for even insinuating that they might be abusing their power. You have no right, absolutely no right, to complain about a minuscule amount of infraction points whenever the mods could be, say, outright putting you on the train out just for having a dissenting opinion.

Yes, maybe the problem here is you. Maybe it's not at all that the moderators are a bunch of "fascists" that are secretly conspiring against us and blatantly abusing their power because they can. Maybe, just maybe, it's the fact that, since DAY ONE, you have been easily one of the most arrogant, pushy, juvenile people on this forum - the only person here who has bluntly shown an entire disinterest in debating opposing opinions, instead opting to try and force your views down the throats of everyone you see. Believe me, this is no case of silencing unpopular opinions. You don't see Morgan getting infracted. You don't see Dallasfan or Han getting infracted. You don't see Rosetta getting infracted. Look around you, Libertas - it's only happening to you, and it's only continuing because of you.

You want my professional advice? Leave. Do yourself and this entire community a favor and just leave. If you hate what it's become so much, please don't bother sticking around. In your situation, most sensible people would have given this forum its farewell long ago. No one's forcing you to stay except yourself, and I'm sure there are plenty more forums out there that share your beliefs, and that you'd be perfectly happy with. Believe me, you'll thank yourself for it, and by God, so will we.
