There's a newly-created category for potential infracted posts: "excessive hyperbole."

Could you imagine the PMs I'd get from certain posters if they saw one of their posts had been infracted for "excessive hyperbole?"  The reaction would be full of excessive hyperbole: "This forum has gone to the dogs.  That's an inherently biased description of my posting!  You're infracting me for my opinions, not for any supposed offense!  You call what I'm saying hyperbole, but it's the truth!  Hyperbole.  Roll Eyes"

I had a very active standing request for "Copyright Infraction" to be among our available options for explanations of infractions -- if The Man kept repeating his desire for us (read: "me") to enforce these rules, it made sense for us to have a coherent explanation besides "Other Reason" for posters to see what went wrong.

Upon adding the "Copyright Violation" infraction, he added the "Excessive Hyperbole" one too Smiley  His example of it was a certain poster ranting about the zionists controlling all the political parties in the United States.

The discussion thread on the mod board had many great ideas including




It even ended up in a YouTube video which is in the Comedy Goldmine, but I have no idea who made it.
